Himachal Pradesh rises from apple orchards and cedar forests to some of the world's highest motorable roads. It contains India's most dramatic landscapes — the moonscape cold desert of Spiti, the lush Kullu Valley, the snow corridors of Lahaul, and the ancient Buddhist circuit of Kinnaur. Most people only see Shimla and Manali. We take you where the mountains truly begin.
Spiti Valley — Sits at an average altitude of 12,000–14,000 feet — a high-altitude cold desert tucked between India and Tibet. Key Monastery, Dhankar Fort, Hikkim, and Chandratal Lake are among India's most extraordinary places.
Chandratal Lake — The "Moon Lake" — sits at 14,100 feet and reflects surrounding peaks in still, crystal-clear water shaded grey-blue-green. Camping here under a sky with no light pollution is a transcendent experience.
The Spiti Circuit — Entering via Shimla through Kinnaur and exiting via Manali — is considered one of India's greatest road journeys. No single route captures the scale of this landscape quite like doing the full loop.
Himachal Pradesh recorded its highest-ever footfall in 2024 with 1.81 crore visitors, up from 1.50 crore in 2023 — tourism contributes 7.78% to the state's economy, and infrastructure investment is accelerating.
Spiti accessible via Shimla–Kinnaur–Kaza route. Snow still on passes. Best for Kalpa, Nako, Tabo. Manali route closed until late May.
Kunzum Pass opens (forecast late May 2026). Both Manali and Shimla routes accessible. Chandratal Lake reachable. Shimla & Manali weather at its best.
Spiti itself is rain-shadowed and stays dry. But approach roads via Manali face landslides. Shimla route safer. Keep 2–3 buffer days. Landscapes lush green.
Clear skies, cooler air, golden fields. Both routes open. Fewer crowds than peak season. Sapa golden rice harvest spectacular in this window. Highly recommended.
Manali route closes. Shimla–Kinnour route only. Temperatures to -20°C in Kaza. Snow leopard tracking possible. For the adventurous and well-prepared only.
Our Sweet Spot: For most travellers from South India, June or September is ideal — both windows offer open roads, stable weather, and the full Spiti circuit. September is our top pick: fewer crowds, cooler air, golden light for photography.
All packages originate from Shimla or Manali. Flights from Bengaluru, Chennai & Hyderabad assisted by our team.
Himachal rewards travellers who slow down. Our itineraries are paced for acclimatisation, continuous stops, and quiet mornings with a view — not a checklist of spots to photograph.
A heritage property in Shimla. A Spitian homestay in Kaza. A riverside camp near Chandratal. We choose stays that are part of the experience, not just a place to sleep.
Inner Line Permits for restricted zones, high-clearance vehicle arrangements, road condition monitoring, alternate route planning — we handle everything that mountain travel demands.
We've taken first-time hill travellers to Shimla & Manali and seasoned trekkers deep into Pangi Valley. We design around your pace, not a template.
Post-pandemic, domestic mountain travel has seen its strongest recovery ever. Spiti in particular is gaining global recognition — and the window to experience it without crowds is now.

For Shimla and Manali — March to June is ideal. For the full Spiti circuit, June to October is the window when both routes are open. September is our top pick: clear skies, fewer crowds, cooler temperatures, and golden landscapes. The Kunzum Pass connecting Manali to Spiti is forecast to open in late May 2026. For snow experiences, October to February with the Shimla route only.
Chandratal under a sky full of stars. The silence of Spiti at dawn. A road that leads to India's last frontier. These are not experiences you keep postponing.
